The practice of Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in our parish is both noble and laudable. The priests of the parish both encourage and support this necessary dimension of prayer and Church life. In the things of the Lord, however, it does not serve us well to do things half-baked. Our Lord has given the best that He is to us—Himself. In consultation with the Pastoral Council, the group of regular adorers and the Liturgy Committee, I have decided to set aside Tuesday of every week for our parish day of Eucharistic Adoration. This day coincides with our parish’s responsibility to be on call at Delaware County Memorial Hospital and beautifully focuses our prayer for the sick and dying, in addition to the other personal intentions we bring before the Lord.
To allow for this to happen properly, the Church will be reserved every Tuesday for uninterrupted adoration of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament from after the 6:30 am Mass until a closing prayer service with the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Benediction at 7:00 in the evening. This will require some sacrifice; thus, no funerals, practices or other events will be scheduled in our church on Tuesday. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. May our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament be praised, adored and loved always.
